Glass Blower's Party

Great day today. A lot of me moving through space. Start with glassblowing. Made a few good pieces, I'm making progress. Then on to starlight skiing. Skiing by feel and intuition; certainly not by sight! And a quick stop at the curling rink on the way home to chuck a few stones.

Last nights Glassblowers Party at Foci was good. A tradition started by Andrew Shea continues under Michael Boyd and his Foci/MCGA.

The most dynamic piece was a Doug Becker event. This is his "deer skull" just after they attached the second horn. People were flying left and right. Heating pieces, opening doors, delivering glass. All survived and the piece made it to the annealer!

Danielle starting a large sculpture. The skates may actually help.
Andrew and Todd teaming up the one-handed team competition. Tape one hand of each down and make the best piece you can in a half-hour.

Todd Cameron told me I got on YouTube. I was door jockey for him at the Halloween event. This snip is Todd getting a bubble ready to blow into a pumpkin/mold. Yes!
