Bid!

Figure it's time to move some glass...hopefully. Feel free to bid on Ebay for it or, if it doesn't sell, make me an offer.

My stuff is coming along. When I look at the pieces I was making a year or two ago, believe I have turned the corner into proficiency. Am trying to get to MSP regularly for some hot shop time so I don't get too rusty. And I'm slowly learning how to photograph the stuff so it even looks halfway decent. Time will tell where it all leads.

Little Wolf

Got hooked up with Tom and friends for a trip on the Little Wolf, Waupaca County. Cool, clear water, warm day, decent flow, great group. Lots of riffles and rock gardens, even an awesome little canyon run. Found a few spots where I could stick the boat for some side and front surfing. Let's do it again!

Final Four

Great trip last long-weekend to Washington DC for the NCAA hockey Final Four. A super fine place to visit, already getting busy for the season.

Always good tourist stuff. New sites for us included the National Museum of the American Indian, Renwick, Nat'l Portrait Gallery, American Art Museum, Nat'l Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Supreme Court. Personal tour of the Capitol was a highlight. Courtesy of NH Senator Judd Gregg. Constituents George and Maggie got us in, so we got to ride the little train between the senate building and the capitol. All the memorials are very well done, much deserved and much appreciated.

Very well done Bas-reliefs at the WWII Memorial.
Number one seed Boston University was lucky to win it all. Facing UNH (ranked 10) then UVM (#9) then Miami (#13) in the final. Won each of these last three games by 1 point. The final was the best ever, unless you're a Miami of Ohio fan. Down 3-1 with three minutes left, BU pulled their goalie. They finally went 3-2 with :59 left and then quickly backed that up to 3-3 with :17 left. Won in OT. Whew.

Capitols may not win much, but they have a great scoreboard!

70-642

I passed my test in Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure (70-642) and am now a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist. Great to get a refresher on DNS, DHCP, MS-CHAPv2, IPv6 and all the rest of WinSrv2008. Nice piece of software. And maybe it'll help me land some work!

Early Birds

Snow on the ground this morning, we picked the right day for an early season run on the Plover - yesterday. Only sister Judith could be convinced to try. Actually, it was she who convinced me we should go with only two boaters. Most of the ice is out, water was cold, river was high and fast. I got to run the fast water below the Jordan dam and another drop I've been eyeing for a while. So everyone's happy.
