Shoulder Season

Largely too cold for biking. 9 degrees at reveille this morning. Mid 20’s works, but not aught-niner. Ground is stiff, ponds are icing over. What to do? Surf the web and picked up a homebrew kit. Site o' the day, and many days, fyxomatosis. Dude takes some really nice shots of bikes and bikes being built-up. Really has a good eye and ethic for the sweet engineering and elegance of cycling.

Gophers

Made it to the premier college hockey matchup of the weekend. A nonconference matchup of #5 New Hampshire v. #4 UofMn Golden Gophers. After battling to a 2-2 OT tie on Friday, another great matchup Saturday. Goldy got away with a huge flurry of goals late and 3 points for the weekend.

Always a pleasure to visit the friendly confines of Mariucci Arena at the UofM. Took forever to scalp a Saturday ticket for a decent price. $25 vs. the $35 face. But I did get a club level seat. Visited between periods to check it out. Free beer, snacks, nice accomodations. But not nearly the great view of the ice like Barb's section, so I trundled back down to the great unwashed and sober masses.

Great to see the old crowd. Pete, Diane, Lisa, Joel, Bill. Miss you guys.

Pumpkins '08

With hours to spare, we whipped out our knives and went to work.

MotoWI

Last chance this year to take the Suzuki out? A few nice days forecast and a route to try. With Barb in Chicago, an overnight in the driftless country was in order. Found some very choice roads. Not necessarily these pictured, as the nice ones require all your attention and aren't the best spots to stop. But, you get the idea.
