Warren and Martha

Warren Sondericker

Brother-in-law Warren Sondericker passed away Friday, 6/25/2010 in Milwaukee. Surrounded by friends and family. 71 years old.

Proud, confident and outspoken. Justifiably so. He was strong, intelligent and successful.

Sergeant in the Army. Founder of and partner in Midwest Fire Protection, a successful Milwaukee business. Master cribbage player and gambler. Brimmed with street smarts, reasonably connected, a peerless negotiator. Docent at the Warren Sondericker Hall of Shame; a hall at their home and converted firehouse dedicated to his second place finishes. A good man to have on your side. Always ready with an interesting and relevant story.

Long-time leukemia survivor. Proceeded in death by his wife, Martha Tate Fingleton. It's been a good run Warren. Sleep.

Martha Tate Fingleton

Sister-in-law (Barb's sister) Martha Tate Fingleton passed away 6/17/2010.

A bright mind and quick wit. Impassioned yet calm. Always ready for a well-reasoned discussion. Great companion and wife of Warren Sondericker. A caring nurse. Treasured sister and daughter. Winner of her high school quiz bowl. UW-Milwaukee master's in Philosophy and teaching assistant. Second highest ranked woman in the American Cribbage Congress Hall of Fame. Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire contestant. We'll miss her light.

2007: As reported by Robert Moojus, ACC Cribbage Commissioner:

A cribbage player Scott Buhrow, pegging out of Tennesee, bested a field of over 560 peggers to be crowned the winner of the 2007 American Cribbage Congress Tournament of Champions.

In a hard-fought final round, Scott defeated Warren Sondericker from Milwaukee, taking the best of 5 by a score of 3-2. Warren, a Life Master Two-Star, was seen trying to sell his soul to the devil in the final game, but Scott overcame this plea.
